# surface area

## Plain sticky notes

### surface area

to find the surface area of a 3D shape you have to: draw the net of the shape you want find the area of all of the individual shapes of the net then add all of the areas to give you a total!

### finding the area of a cylinder

to find the area of a cylinder you have to draw the net which consists of just a rectangle and two circles. find the area the rectangle: LxW or length times width. finding the area of the two circles: PIr sqaured or PI times the radius squared, pi is just a number and is usually 3.142 but can be used as just 3, diameter is the line that goes directly throught the centre of the circle from one edge of the circle to another. because both of the circles are the same size the area of them is the same add it all up: now you just have to add the area of the rectangle and the area of the two circles, giving you the surface area.

# y=mx+c

## Plain sticky notes

### y=mx+c

this is the formula used to find the equation of a line on a straight line graph. the m and the c are just numbers. the m is the gradient, and the c is where the line crosses the y axis.

### parallel lines

if your graph has two or more lines, if tyhey are parallel then thier gradient will always be the same.

# probability

## Plain sticky notes

### probability

probability is how likely something is going to happen. if you have a dice with the numbers 1-6, the probability of rolling a 4 is 1/6 if you have 12 marbles in a bag, 3 blue 2 red and 5 green, the probability of getting a blue marble is 3/10 the probability of getting a red marble is 2/10 and the probability of getting a green marble is 5/10.
