Ronan's Law

Knife Crime

In February 2025, the UK government introduced stricter rules for online retailers selling knives, known as "Ronan's Law." These measures were implemented to combat knife crime, particularly among young people.

Key features of Ronan's Law:

These measures are named in memory of Ronan Kanda, a 16-year-old who was tragically killed in a case of mistaken identity in 2022. His family has been actively campaigning for stricter regulations on knife sales to prevent similar tragedies.

The government aims to halve knife crime over the next decade, and Ronan's Law is a significant step towards achieving that goal.

By making it more difficult for young people to access knives, particularly online, the law seeks to protect lives and make communities safer.

Sepsis - Alex

Sepsis

Page 1

The gallery hushed. A lone gust of wind rattled the flag on the 18th green, a stark white against the bruised twilight sky. Alex’s caddy, old Ben, stood motionless, his weathered face etched with grief. The putter lay discarded, a gleaming sliver of metal against the manicured green. Adam, the prodigy, the golden boy of golf, was gone. A single gunshot, echoing across the silent course, had ended it all. He was 27.

Page 2

They called it a tragedy. A waste. He had the world at his feet. The Masters was his for the taking, everyone said. But Adam carried a weight no one saw, a darkness that gnawed at his soul. He’d battled it for years, a silent war fought on manicured fairways and hushed greens. The pressure, the expectations, the relentless pursuit of perfection – it had all become too much.

Page 3

His swing was poetry, a fluid dance of power and grace. He could bend the ball at will, make it dance to his tune. But off the course, his life was a chaotic mess. Booze, pills, fleeting relationships – he chased anything that could numb the pain, the gnawing emptiness inside.

Page 4

His father, a former club pro, had pushed him relentlessly from the moment he could hold a club. “Practice makes perfect, Adam. Perfect makes champions.” The words echoed in his head, a mantra that became a curse. He never felt good enough, never measured up to the impossible standards set for him.

Page 5

His mother, a gentle soul, tried to shield him from the pressure, but her voice was often drowned out by his father’s booming pronouncements. She saw the sadness in his eyes, the way he retreated into himself, but she felt helpless to stop it.

Page 6

His first taste of success came early. He won the junior nationals at 15, the youngest ever. The accolades poured in, the media frenzy began. He was the next big thing, the future of golf. But behind the smiles and the trophies, the darkness lurked.

Page 7

College was a blur of parties and tournaments. He excelled on the course, but his grades suffered. He barely scraped by, more focused on his game than his studies. The pressure mounted, the weight on his shoulders grew heavier.

Page 8

He turned pro at 21, a whirlwind of endorsements and sponsorships. The money was intoxicating, the attention overwhelming. He bought a mansion, a sports car, anything to fill the void inside. But the emptiness remained.

Page 9

He met Sarah at a charity event. She was different, a breath of fresh air in his chaotic world. She saw past the fame and the money, saw the vulnerable man beneath the surface. For a while, he felt happy, truly happy.

Page 10

But the demons were always there, lurking in the shadows. The pressure of the tour, the constant travel, the loneliness – it all took its toll. He started drinking heavily again, relying on pills to get through the day.

Page 11

Sarah tried to help him, begged him to get help. But he pushed her away, convinced he could handle it on his own. He was afraid of showing weakness, afraid of admitting he was broken.

Page 12

Their relationship crumbled under the weight of his addiction. He lost her, the one person who truly loved him. The pain was unbearable, a searing wound that refused to heal.

Page 13

His game began to suffer. The magic was gone, replaced by doubt and anxiety. He missed cuts, his rankings plummeted. The sponsors started to pull out, the media turned against him.

Page 14

He was a fallen star, a cautionary tale. The world that had once adored him now scorned him. The pressure became unbearable, a crushing weight that threatened to suffocate him.

Page 15

He tried to quit, to walk away from the game that had consumed his life. But he couldn’t. Golf was in his blood, a part of him he couldn’t escape. He was trapped, a prisoner of his own making.

Page 16

He sought help, went to rehab, but the demons were too strong. He relapsed, again and again. The cycle of addiction was a vicious trap, one he couldn’t break free from.

Page 17

He felt like a failure, a fraud. He had everything, yet he had nothing. The emptiness inside him grew, a gaping hole that threatened to swallow him whole.

Page 18

He isolated himself, cut himself off from everyone who cared about him. He was alone in his darkness, consumed by despair.

Page 19

The thoughts started creeping in, whispers in the back of his mind. The world would be better off without him, he told himself. He was a burden, a disappointment.

Page 20

He saw no way out, no escape from the pain. He felt like he was drowning, suffocating under the weight of his own misery.

Page 21

He made a plan, a final act of desperation. He wrote a note, a brief apology to those he was leaving behind. He didn’t blame anyone, didn’t try to explain. He simply said he couldn’t take it anymore.

Page 22

He went to the golf course, the place where he felt most at home. He walked to the 18th green, the spot where he had won his first tournament. He took out his putter, the one he had used to win so many times.

Page 23

He looked out at the setting sun, the sky ablaze with color. He thought about his life, the highs and the lows. He thought about Sarah, his mother, his father. He felt a pang of regret, but it was too late.

Page 24

He raised the putter to his temple, the cold metal pressing against his skin. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath. He thought about the silence, the peace that would finally be his.

Page 25

The gunshot echoed across the course, a final punctuation mark on a life cut short. Adam, the golfer, the prodigy, the fallen star, was gone. The darkness had finally won. The sepsis of his soul had claimed him.

NHS Infonet / Sodexo College

On the 26th and 27th i had nothing to eat - on the 28th I had stomach stabbing pains.
I had an appointment with the Community Treatment team to change my dressing.

At 2:30 i had a subway - at 3pm I had my appointment with my nurse. She said that my wound had healed and that i no linger needed to see her - but she asked me how i was feeling because i was not my usual chirpy self.
I said that i was feeling dreadful like i was passing out and my eyesight / headache was affected.
She took my observations and observed that my blood pressure was 80 / 66 very low. She called for the assistance of a Doctor having checked one of her wall charts. She opted to call for an ambulance.

I was checked out by the Paramedics and was rushed to hospital under the blue lights.
The nurses concern was Sepsis - my concern was a ruptured stomach as I had not has a movement for 5 days.

The hospital was excellent over three days I had extensive tests - my bloods were showing that I had an infection but the doctors was not sure where the the infection was.

On the 39th I was released home on a course of antibiotics.

So buyer beware - if you are feeling faint you could have low blood pressure / Sepsis.

Whilst in hospital I decided it is time to release project Nimrod.

MCP

A Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) was a broad term previously used to describe anyone who had passed at least one Microsoft Certification exam. It was a foundational stepping stone. However, Microsoft has significantly revamped its certification program, and the "MCP" designation itself is no longer actively used in the same way.

Key points to understand:

The evolution of Microsoft Certifications:

Microsoft moved away from the general MCP title to create a more structured and relevant certification program. The current role-based certifications are designed to align with specific job functions and industry needs. This makes it easier for individuals to demonstrate their expertise and for employers to find qualified candidates.

In short: Don't worry about pursuing an "MCP" specifically. Instead, focus on the current Microsoft Certifications that are relevant to your career goals. Earning any of these certifications demonstrates your skills and validates your expertise in a specific area of Microsoft technology. You can find the most up-to-date information on the Microsoft Learn website.
