PLANTS - skills
- Using drawing tools, students draw and label the reproductive parts of a plant. They save their drawing as a .gif and email it to their teacher as an attachment. (See PLANT REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM on this page as an example.)

ANIMALS - skills
- Create a presentation (using slides) of the life cycle of any animal you have studied. You can use the resources given on the Internet sites you have used (above). Use Screen Capture with Resizing to use images (if they can't be saved directly from the screen). Your presentation should include all stages in the life cycle and descriptive text. Here is an example of a presentation. Here is another example.

OUTCOMES:

Investigate: how many days does it take the Moon to travel one orbit of the Earth?
Investigate: how many months does it take the Earth to travel one orbit of the Sun?
Using StarOffice, draw simulation of Sun, Earth and Moon, with labels. Include information: The Sun is the largest object in the universe. The Moon is Earth's nearest neighbour. The Sun gives the earth heat and light. The Moon is the smallest of the three objects.

- Make a Powerpoint slide show showing 1-10 pieces of clipart, with numbers shown in both languages.
- Go to google.com and click on Language Tools. In the Translate section, choose English to Portugese. Type in the following address: http://beenleigss.eq.edu.au/esl/1.htm,
- Have students write each sentence in English and then in Portuguese (use another colour) from the site in the above step.
- Using colours sheet from teacher - students cut out colours and glue into scrap book.
- Make a Powerpoint slide show of colours using the drawing tools. Make sure you show both the English and the Portuguese in your slide show.
- Draw a colourful picture (anything you like). Label the colours in English.

ACTIVITY ONE - INDIGENOUS STUDIES
OUTCOMES:
- students will use create a diagram (sociogram) to represent relationships between characters.
- students will view a video about Aboriginal kids, lost in the desert without water
- students will partake in a 'choose your own adventure' story, making decisions to help the lost children find water in the desert
- students will learn about aboriginal culture and adaptabiliy in the desert.
Visit the home page of UsMob . Students click on 'diary' to get to know the characters in the forthcoming videos.
Using StafOffice, Drawing, model a sociogram for Charlie. Students to draw a sociogram for either Charlie or Jacquita (for more confident users). Name to be on printout. Collect for student folders.
View UsMob video to the first 'choose your own adventure' point. If time permits, hold a discussion about options to follow in the story.
