Investigate:  how many days does it take the Moon to travel one orbit of the Earth?

Investigate:  how many months does it take the Earth to travel one orbit of the Sun?

 

Using StarOffice, draw simulation of Sun, Earth and Moon, with labels.  Include information:  The Sun is the largest object in the universe.  The Moon is Earth's nearest neighbour.  The Sun gives the earth heat and light.  The Moon is the smallest of the three objects.

      1. Make a Powerpoint slide show showing 1-10 pieces of clipart, with numbers shown in both languages.

      3. Have students write each sentence in English and then in Portuguese (use another colour) from the site in the above step.
      4. Using colours sheet from teacher - students cut out colours and glue into scrap book.

      6. Draw a colourful picture (anything you like).  Label the colours in English.

OUTCOMES: 

 

Visit the home page of UsMob .   Students click on 'diary' to get to know the characters in the forthcoming videos. 

 

Using StafOffice, Drawing, model a sociogram for Charlie.  Students to draw a sociogram for either Charlie or Jacquita (for more confident users).  Name to be on printout.  Collect for student folders.

 

View UsMob video to the first 'choose your own adventure' point.  If time permits, hold a discussion about options to follow in the story.
