There will be no Hot Lunch for the Kindergarten students due to the hot lunch being on the same day as our Telus World of Science field trip. If you already paid for Hot Lunch on that day you will be refunded. Please ensure your child has a bagged lunch packed for the day of the filed trip.
The Kindergarten students are on a different report card and interview schedule than the rest of the school. We do not have interviews in January or February but I sent a note home in your childs agenda book on Friday, February 1st letting you know how your child is doing up to this point. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning you can contact me by email or with a note in your child's agenda book. (agrumbach@psd70.ab.ca)
The Kindergarten classes are excited to watch a Lion Dance performance on Monday, February 4th. We have been learning about China and Chinese New Year During the month of February. This year Chinese New Year falls on February 9th.
We will be having a Valentines Party on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 13. If you would like to volunteer please send me an email or write in your child's agenda book.
I will be posting a sign-up sheet outside my classroom door on Wednesday, February 6th if you would like to provide a treat for the Valentines party.
Your child is welcome to hand out Valentines on February 13th but we have a couple of rules regarding Valentines:
1) Please do NOT have your child fill in who the Valentine is “to:” It is difficult for students to read all of their friends names and we do not have enough time in the day to sort out all of the Valentines.
2) If your child is making Valentines please make sure they have enough for all of the students in the class. (but please do not put names on them) We have 20 students in our class.
As part of our space theme we will be going on a field trip to The Telus World of Science on Friday, March 1st. It is a full day field trip so please make sure your child is at school on time. I am looking for 4 parent volunteers from our class. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer. Your child will need a bagged lunch on the day of the field trip. Please make sure everything is disposable and is in a paper or plastic bag.
