Communication to Regional Finalissts

Thank you for attending this years Regional Final of The Red Octopus Classic.

This has been too late in the year to organise due to Covid - The Regional Qualifiers should have taken place over the Easter Bank Holiday.

But you are here today and that is all that matters.

Todays shotgun has two elements 
1. The Pro-Am Starting off the Tees
2. The Adam Bramwell Charity Golf Day - Starting off the fairway.

In this years Adam Bramwell event we are accommodating people of a handicap of 36 that will play the course as a par three course from the 150 yard markers. This is to accommodate people that just play golf at a pitch and put or short course - Like Burnage Rugby Club and people who no longer have a handicap if they do not elect to play from the main tee. 

The winners of Todays Pro-Am will go on to National Finals.  The North of England Being Sandiway Golf Club on October 5th  - The Southern contenders going to East Sussex National on August 4th.

The Top Pairs from the National Final will go to the Grand Final in October - We are trying to arrange that this should be Birkdale in future years when all counties are involved - so for 2021 the grand final will be at Withington Golf Club on the last Thursday in October..

Thank you for attending this years event and lets hope that we can turn it into an annual event for all counties.

The Covid Concert……..

I am about to book Hazel Grove Golf club for a weekday event towards the end of June.

Will the 3 Northern Monkeys by available can we try to arrange it for Thursday 24th June - Covid allowing.


Hazel grove are constructing a new building of their driving range - I am going to ask if we can use the building for a stage and hold a Party in the Park Pig Roast starting at circa 6pm.

Thank you for asking about Golf Events. (The Dennis Taylor Golf Classic)

I am creating a UK Model for Charity Golf Events called the Golf Hub - Here id the Business Modal / Vision 21.

It a shotgun star golf day

The format is you charge £300 per team = £5400 
You pay the club about £100 x 18 for the hire of the course £1800 

Leaving you £3600 to play with.  You provide Drinks at reception and food after the event say £10 / 18 x4 = £720 say £1000 
Leaving you with £3600
Decent entertainer will cost you about £300 then there are prizes to be considered.

At the end of the day you make say £2,000.

But you can increase that by saying it is for charity and you get companies to donate prizes - one popular source is Manchester United / City football shirts Signed.
You hopefully will get a large selection of prizes to raffle of - people tend to give generously at charity events - I bought a pair of football boots once and paid over the odds. 

I am working on a Party in the Park Golf Day at Hazel Grove where I will only charge £200 per team entry as I will be running a separate pig Roast bbq at £10 per head.

Put on a band called the 3 Northern Monkey. - and see if John Atherton will play as well. I am arranging this for 24th June and will be inviting 18 professionals to play at a cost of £101 per professional for a Professional Prize of £1500. (£300 to pay for the band).

Each pro will have to run a Qualifying competition to determine his team that will say bee 100 entrants at £5 per head. The pro will make £500 for himself from this so will be expected to make a donation for the prize raffle - say a golf bag or golf shirt / ball.

So the Adam Bramwell Charity Golf Day will become the Adam Bramwell Golf Classic an annual event - a professional Golf Tournament.

If if takes off an the pros are onboard I will eventually make it an All Professional Daily event with the entrance fee being £500 per pro and we will run a parallel Shotgun Start ay Withington Golf Club - Pairing individuals with professional for a pro -Am trophy.

It is looking like the Dennis Taylor Classic will be the Am Am portion of that event

Evolution - The Adam Bramwell Classic

It is my long term objective to hold a tandam golf event of say 160 golf professionals and 160 amateur golfers competing on the same day on two separate courses for one trophy. That being one best gross prize.
Amateur Vs Professional.

But to get there is going to take a lot of asking so we will look at what progress we have made.

We have ran the Adam Bramwell Charity Golf Day fo 5 years being a close nit set of companions of Adam and we want that to remain the same. it is an open competition to those without golf club handicaps. A shotgun start. 

For this year the shotgun start will be from the 150 yard markers on the par 4 and 5 holes leaving the tees free for golfers with registered handicaps.

For Adams group there will be a special group for those that do not think that they are not quite ready for golf yet. This category will be asked to play the coarse as a par 3 course playing each hole from the 150 yard marker.  This will help those like myself that can not drag a full set of clubs around the golf club so they will only need to carry a 7 iron and a sand wedge / putter.


For the main group - the tee starters - this will be a pro-am with each member of the group paying just £50 - including the professional plus the professional paying an additional £100 for the professional purse prize. Now the professional does not have to play on the day - he can nominate a low handicap golfer to play in his place. But the professional will have to hold a qualifying competition at his home club as part of the selection process for the event.

I know that events at golf club like the Ford Qualifier and The Famous Grouse were blue ribbon events in the golf club calendar. I hope to make The Adam Bramwell Classic a blue Ribbon Event across the uk - with separate counties each holding their own professional pro-Am.
