Your teacher has asked you, a math guru, to design the floor plan of her new house. Following are her requirements.
* You will have 1,419 square feet to work with.
* The living area will be 1,000 square feet.
* She needs a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area. A
small place to eat would be nice as well.
* A vegetable garden is a must and she would like it to be triangular. It will be drawn designed on a separate piece of graph paper and will total 300 square feet.
* Color code and label each veggie and fruit section.

Steps for Success
1. Explore the first website below to review area and perimeter.
2. Look at sample floor plans on the other links below to
examine typical room sizes.
3. On handout, list the rooms, their square feet, and
perimeter!
4. Use graph paper to draw out floor plan
(REMEMBER REQUIREMENTS ABOVE).
4. Each space must be labeled and colored in a different color.
5 Calculate area and perimeter then record on handout.
6. Review rubric! Ask yourself these questions:
Is this my very best work?
Could I enhance this work in any way?
Am I proud of my work and myself for the effort and thought I put into this project?
7. Turn your work in to your teacher.
