A term is a letter on its own. A exspretion is a group of numbers and symbols however not with an equals sign, and finaly an equation is an exspretion with an equals sign. EG. R = term R+5 = exspretion R+5=21 = equation

Exspanding bracets.

Exspanding bracets is when you take an exspretion in bracets (R+3)(5+R) and take the bracets away R^2+8R+8. This is how you do it: first you take R and R to make R^2 then you take R and 5 ( oppersit digits) and they make 5R then you do the same for the others 3R. Then you add it alltogether and you get R^2+8R+8. Now try these: 1) (T+7)(9+T) 2) (Y-6)(Y-4) 3) (U-6)(U-2) 4) (D-5)(5+D)
