Introduction

With this activity, we will be creating a Facebook profile for a historic figure from the American Revolution. Imagine what it would have been like if historical figures like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, King George III, or Thomas Jefferson had Facebook during the late 1700s. You are going to create a Facebook profile for one historical figure from the period of the American Revolution . Your Facebook profile must contain basic information about your chosen figure, people they were or may have been friends with, and posts related to events during the time period. You should include pictures and video if possible.

The Process

Plain sticky notes

Step 1: Choose a Historical Figure

The British and Loyalists we have studied include: King George III Lord Cornwallis and Colonists: John Adams George Washington Thomas Jefferson Patrick Henry Phliss Wheatley Benjamin Franklin Paul Revere Thomas Paine

Step 2: Gather Information

Once you have chosen an historical figure answer as many of the following questions as you can.

Step 3: Create Posts that Your Person could Have Written

Using the graphic organizers provided, create posts that are relevant to the events of the Revolutionary War and your person’s involvement. Example: George Washington Post: Today the Continental Congress has decided to name me Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. I have some reservations about this position. I may not be the leader we need to win a war against Britain and many agree with me. I will have to prove them wrong!
