Did you see that flying fox zooming by? Flying foxes are as tall as a tissue box. They are 25 centimeters long. Also, they have weird wings. Their wings are two soft layers. Last, they see really weird. They use their eyes to hunt. As you can see, flying foxes are unique looking bats.

The life of a flying fox is extraordinary! First, they drink their mom’s milk like a pacifier. They do this for 2-3 months. Later, they are not carried that long. They get carried for a few good days. Last, they live not that long. They live for 20-30 years. In a nutshell, flying foxes have cool life cycles.

Here comes the flying fox emerging from its tree. First, they live as high as in the clouds. They live in the middle and upper canopies of the rainforest in the full sun. Next, some live in Asia. Some live in Thailand. Finally, most live in Australia. They usually live on small islands near coasts. As you can see, flying foxes have great habitats.

The relationship between a hawk and a flying fox isn’t always pretty. First, they eat fruit like humans. They love to eat bananas. Also, they go long distances to find fresh food. They go 7 to 8 miles to reach their food. Last, flying foxes have very large predators. Three of their predators are a hawk, a snake, and a falcon. Obviously, flying foxes have a lot of predators.

Some flying foxes gather during the day. Bats are the only mammals that can fly. Flying foxes are nocturnal. The flying fox’s wingspan is over 5.5 feet. Five hundred flying foxes were reported on the banyan tree.
