Words

Words

(Anders Edenroth)

Words
a letter and a letter on a string
will hold forever humanity spellbound

Words
possession of the beggar and the king
everybody
everyday
you and I
we all can say

Words
regarded as a complicated tool
created by man, implicated by mankind

Words
obsession of the genius and the fool
everybody
everyday
everywhere
and everyway

Words!

Find them, you can use them
Say them, you can hear them
Write them, you can read them
Love them, fear them

Words
transmitted as we're fitted from the start
received by all and we're sentenced to a life with

Words
impression of the stupid and the smart
everybody
everyday
you and I
we all can say

Words
inside your head can come alive as they're said
softly, loudly, modestly or proudly

Words
expression by the living and the dead
everybody
everyday
everywhere
and everyway

Words!

Find them, you can use them
Say them, you can hear them
Write them, you can read them
Love them, fear them

I Got life

Nina Simone- I Got Life

Ain't got no home, ain't got no shoes
Ain't got no money, ain't got no class
Ain't got no skirts, ain't got no sweaters
Ain't got no perfume, ain't got no bed
Ain't got no man

Ain't got no mother, ain't got no culture
Ain't got no friends, ain't got no schoolin'
Ain't got no love, ain't got no name
Ain't got no ticket, ain't got no token
Ain't got no car

And what have I got?
Why am I alive anyway?
Yeah, what have I got,
Nobody can take away?

I got my hair, got my head
Got my brains, got my ears
Got my eyes, got my nose
Got my mouth, I got my smile

I got my tongue, got my chin
Got my neck, got my boobies
Got my heart, got my soul
Got my back, I got my sex

I got my arms, got my hands
Got my fingers, got my legs
Got my feet, got my toes
Got my liver, got my blood

I've got life , I've got my freedom,

I got life!
I've got life, and i'm gonna keep it.
I've got life, and nobody's gonna take it.

journal.

i am trying to figure out the proper way to grow, and i feel  like i've made my share of mistakes. knowing that i have had to depend on a number of circumstances, events connected in the complexities of the maths we generate, i feel that my life has a unique identity.  there is a longing in me to love the past- to live out the dreams of my ancestors, for freedom, and the sake of beauty.

so much in our lives directs us to value the ostensibly practical and not the radically beautiful, the short term answer to a deep problem, that i need to make bringing more beauty into the world an integral part of my life.  I have a commitment, an inherited obligation that derives from privilege and luck and courage.

i bear the standard of my heritage with pride. the parents of my parents' parents fought for workers and taught birth control; the least i could do is stand with my generation as we decide the struggles of the early part of the century.  nothing in my experience has led me to beleive that our lives are anything other than important.  questioning at the level of experiential  belief the idea that life has a real import led me to some of the worst positions i have found myself in.

the chance to work against a force that i find pernicious makes my heart race.  whether its the promulgation of mind campaigns that recreate a consumer identity or regressive sociopsychological patterns like racism/ehnocentrism-- i feel better working collaboratively to transform collective social conciousness.

there is a drive for me to understand what  others are thinking, to analyze it myself, and then connect it with other ideas that i or others have had so that the possibily of coming up with an effective solution to try is increased, ie:what can be done to compensate for wage inequality and housing discrimination at once.
